Originally from Texas, Jerry has lived in Ontario, Canada since 2008. He has been in the cheerleading world since 1987 when he cheered in high school and college in Midland, TX. As a 2-time NCA collegiate All-American athlete, he competed on two of the most talented collegiate cheerleading programs in the US for Texas Tech University and Oklahoma State University. During college, he worked for The National Cheerleading Association and America’s Best as a college and high school camp head instructor. In the mid-1990’s, he began the Texas Lonestars, which was one of the first coed all-star teams in Dallas. He, along with Cheer Athletics founder Jody Melton, created the first OPEN all-star team called Texas Allstars (first national champion open team). He began Spirit Mall, the first online store for cheerleading, with Connie Russell in 1996.
My name is Carrie-Anne McQuaid, I am honoured to be the coach of the special needs team here at Limelight. I have coached the level 2 junior team, the level 1 prep team, and was a member of the parent team. This season I am coaching 3 teams, including the Level 5.0 worlds team.
Currently I am the Director of the Whipper Watson Therapeutic Pool at Southlake Regional Health Centre. I work in conjunction with the Children’s Treatment Network to provide a safe, fun environment for children and youth to receive physiotherapy. Safety is a very important in any sport. With my background in physiotherapy and my passion for sports over the last 8 years I have been a club/team trainer for cheer, baseball and hockey.
I volunteer my time as the registrar for York Simcoe Baseball Association. Some of my past coaching awards are; 2013 Coach of the year for York Simcoe Baseball, 2013 Coach of the year Ontario baseball Association, 2013 National Grassroots coach of the year and 2015 York Simcoe Baseball Association Presidents Award. Recently, I won CIT of the year in 2017 and Coach of the Year in 2018. My team also won Evo nationals in 2018.
Hi, my name is Lambert. I have cheered for 3 years with Limelight. I have gone to worlds with Flash all 3 years since it started going to worlds. For the past 3 years I have been a coach for tumbling, levels 1-3 and a junior coach last season for Flare, which was a junior level 2 team. I am also CPR certified.
