Elite Program

Our Elite program has 3 branches

Elite Athletes

  1. Elite All-around – each athlete should be able to perform successfully
    • 2 standing passes at their level from the list below
    • 2 running passes at their level from the list below
    • 2 different stunt positions with excellence, performing at least 2 Elite stunts from the list below
    • 2 jumps (front hurdler, ToeTouch)consecutively with proper form, at level height or higher
    • Perform with facials during dances and use strong motion technique
    • Have a record of good attendance
    • Be a team player with a good attitude
  2. Elite Stunters
    • Be able to perform more than 3 or more Elite level stunts from the list below in at least 2 different stunt positions. Flyers positions include stunts and basket tosses. Base positions include side, main and back spot.
    • Execute elite-level stunting with proper form
  3. Elite Tumblers
    • Perform 3 or more Elite level standing tumbling passes from the list below
    • Perform 3 or more Elite level running tumbling passes from the list below

 

The Academy

  1. Training program for all elite athletes
    • Starting in September, 2 hours of weekly practice that include tumbling, jumps, stunts, and more
    • Starts in September and ends in April
    • Individually based on personal development
    • Focus on solos, duos, stunt groups and Team Canada

 

Elite Teams

  1. Comprised of Elite athletes only
  2. Will travel internationally. We will visit a new place each year.2024 will be in Los Angeles/Hollywood during March break.
  3. Focus on the scoresheet with a huge advantage of maxed team skills

2023 Combines – A sports combine is when athletes and coaches get together to test the skills of athletes and provide opportunities for success. To be part of our Elite program, we will have 3 opportunities to be assessed:

    1. All-around Combine
      1. Coaches and Briana will look for a few athletes that meet the above requirements.
      2. Invites will be presented January 8-15
      3. This workshop will be held on January 28 from 1-3pm
    2. Stunt and Tumble Elite Combine
      1. Coaches and Briana will invite athletes that might be elite in either tumbling or stunting, but may not meet all-around requirements
      2. Invites will be presented January 16-23
      3. This workshop will be held on February 11 from 1-3pm
    3. Open Combine
      1. Anyone that wishes to be evaluated for the Elite program may attend
      2. There will be no actual invitations
      3. This will be held on March 4 from 1-3pm

    1. Guest instructors throughout the season
    2. Music and choreography upgrades
    3. Path for serious athletes to advance their cheer career
    4. International and Canadian travel opportunities
